Hello! We are students at Lake Zurich High School. We wanted to reach out to you, the administrator of Infant Jesus of Prague, to ask if you could inform your students of a unique learning and tutoring opportunity!
Earlier this year, we started the Illinois chapter of Codivate, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students improve their computational thinking and practical programming skills through free virtual classes. We place the emphasis on understanding the logic behind programming rather than the nitty-gritty language details. We group curious students with experienced high schoolers to give them an introduction to the world of coding.
You likely heard from us earlier this year when we reached out about our Spring Session. The session was a success, and this summer we want to reach even more students! We would greatly appreciate if you would spread the word about our introductory coding classes to any students of yours in grades 6-10. Again, our programs are completely free. Additionally, if you have high school students with programming knowledge, we would love if you shared this opportunity to earn service hours over the summer by tutoring in a field of interest. There are very few volunteering options for high schoolers in the computer science field!
Please feel free to check out our website at codivate.org and details about our courses at il.codivate.org. Sign-ups for students close June 11, and classes start June 22.
Thank you for taking the time to read this email. We look forward to hearing from you!
Hoping for a positive response,
Ryan Bohn, Yajat Narayan, and Delilah Herzog from Codivate
